Reds do well in comp awards

While Reds First XI slipped to sixth with a disappointing finish to the season, opening bowler Aravind Pachaiappan has done the club proud, taking out the MCA’s B Grade bowling award. Hard-hitting opener Hamza Raana also finished a stellar season by coming runner-up in both the batting award and best player voting.

The Second XI finished strongly to climb out of last place, winning by a run on the last ball against Youlden and then punishing eventual premier Barnawartha after they rested three leading batsmen.

Pre-season training for season 2019-20 will start in late August on Sundays. From late September, we train every Wednesday, 5.30pm at the nets beside the Brens Pavilion in Royal Park. Just find your way to 78 The Avenue, Parkville, midway between Walker St & Leonard St, and you’ll see us opposite. If you want to play for a great non-yobbo club on beautiful grounds in the heart of Melbourne … come and join us!

We’re always on the look out for new players. If you’re a cricketer who’s new to Melbourne, an overseas visitor looking for a few games, a young player looking for opportunities in senior cricket or a former player looking to revive a stunted career, you’ll be most welcome at the Reds. Drop us a line or come along to training and introduce yourself.
